I have been sexually assaulted

It is important that you are seen as soon as possible.

If you have been assaulted in the last 7 days you may need emergency care for any injuries or require medication to prevent unwanted pregnancy and/or sexually transmitted infections including HIV.

You may also want to have samples taken by a specialist in the event that you wish to report to the police. These need to be taken as soon as possible.

You can go to any of these places for help and advice:

Emergency Contraception: If the assault has happened within the last 5 days and you do not wish to access any of the above services, please consider that you may need to take emergency contraception: click here (Sometimes an emergency coil can be fitted beyond 5 days).
